Western Pennsylvania has long been a leader with many "firsts" in the energy industry. Oil in the
United States was first discovered there, and the first commercial well was drilled in Titusville,
PA, in 1859. Now coal is a major business in the region, too. "I'd be surprised if you could drill
a hole without hitting coal," said Don Winebark, state drilling inspector for Armstrong County.
Natural gas and coal bed methane have both been in play here. But, according to many industry
experts, the future of the gas industry in the region is the Marcellus gas play.

BLX, Inc, Independent Producer of Natural Gas, was established in 1989 and is headquartered in Kittanning, Pennsylvania. We currently own and operate approximately 700 gas wells and 30,000 acres in the Appalachian Basin, primarily in Western Pennsylvania. We are a full-service oil and gas exploration and development company, processing and producing natural gas for residential use. We use a hands-on approach in all phases of operation from leasing and obtaining right of way agreements to building locations, and drilling, producing and maintaining wells.

Sustaining solid relationships with our customers is our top priority. BLX, Inc is entirely sensitive to issues concerning the landowners and others affected by our operations. We respect the needs and wishes of our landowners and make every attempt to ensure our customers' satisfaction.
Our growth has been steady and calculated, with development done by infield drilling and lease acquisition. We continue to move forward and adjust to meet the needs and obstacles that our industry presents. Although a small independent producer, we keep pace with current technology and develop new gas formations as the need arises; such as the development of the Marcellus Shale Formation. BLX, Inc. was the first independent producer of our size to drill and produce a Marcellus Shale well in Western Pennsylvania. The lessons learned have helped us become one of the most efficient and respectable producers of vertical shale wells in the region.
We respect the property and surrounding environment and keep disruption of the natural landscape to a minimum by strictly adhering to the regulations established by the Department of Environmental Protection. Our goal is to continue to grow and develop our company into a major producer of natural gas and oil in the Appalachian Basin.
Our employees are well-trained, knowledgeable, efficient professionals, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss what options you have available. Call 724.543.5743 today for additional information.
